Tom Piscitelli
Biography

Over 34 years experience in HVAC sales, sales management, marketing and consulting have given Tom Piscitelli a wealth of front-line business expertise. He has developed his sales talents by working with major manufacturers, distributors, contractors, builders and utilities.

In 1997, Tom founded Applied Learning Associates, Inc. and began teaching the acclaimed 4-day System Selling In-Home Sales Training seminar series. This highly successful HVAC sales training program has helped boost the sales of over 6,000 seminar graduates.

His articles have been published in HVACR Business Magazine, Contracting Business Magazine and HVACR & Plumbing Distribution Magazine. He is active in bringing cutting-edge training methods to the HVAC industry and has presented webcasts on HVACCHANNEL.TV, HVACTV.COM and the YORK System Selling Sales Bytes® Series.

Tom enthusiastically focuses on the sales person’s relationship with the customer as paramount to sales success. “People don’t care about how much you know until they first know that you care. Customers buy from people, in particular people they trust. Developing skills that help build a trusting, long-term relationship with customers is what I strive to bring to our sales graduates.” One dealer client recently commented that System Selling training was “the soft sell with high skill…just what we need.”

Ruth King
Biography

Ruth King is Channel Manager for HVACChannel.tv; television on the Internet for contractors. She is also President of Business Ventures Corporation. Ruth has worked in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning industry since 1987. Her work includes consulting in sales and marketing, finance, technical training, and operations challenges.

She is especially proud of one contractor she helped climb out of a big hole. He started with a negative $400,000 net worth 15 years ago and is still in business today…profitably and with a positive net worth.

After twelve years on the road, doing 200 flights per year, she knew there had to be a better way to reach contractors and other small business people who wanted to build their businesses and train their employees. As a result, HVACChannel.tv, began operations in March, 2002. ProfitabilityChannel.com began operations in January, 2005. These channels are part of Ribbon, The Internet Broadcasting Network. Ruth holds an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University and Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University and the University of Pennsylvania, respectively.

She holds a Class II (unrestricted) HVAC contractor’s license in Georgia.

Ruth is passionate about helping adults learn to read, photography, and marathon races. She helped start an adult literacy organization in 1986 that currently serves over 1,000 adults per year and ran the Boston Marathon in April, 2004 and April, 2005.

She has written many manuals for Contractors including the popular Keeping Score Series: “Financial Management for Contractors,” “Improving Profitability and Productivity”, “Pricing for Residential HVAC Companies,” and “21 Way to Keep Your Honest Employees Honest”. Her first general business book, The Ugly Truth about Small Business, won the 2006 USA Best Books Award for Entrepreneurship. Her second book, The Ugly Truth about Managing People, was published in July, 2007. Ruth has spoken for national and state association meetings, national and local trade shows, manufacturers, distributors, and others in 49 of 50 states. Mike Ratchford owns and operates several multimillion dollar companies. He is a sought-after marketing consultant/speaker and has authored many articles for industry trade publications.

He has "walked the walk" before advising others. His practical and easy approach has helped 100's of small business owners.

Right Path Marketing, one of the companies that Mike owns, provides unique and effective marketing solutions to clients who are trying to generate profits with effective lead generation, lead conversion and client retention programs to increase their revenue and referrals. His Robotic Marketing Program has been successful for HVAC contractors.
